Guariento – Carraresi Time

2011 is a year rich in big events such as the monumental exhibition dedicated to Guariento and its art in the XIV century here in Padua and in the Veneto region.
The town of Padua and the Foundation CARIPARO, have organized, from April 16th to the end of July 2011, this great exhibition dispersed across different locations.
In the renovated headquarters of the Foundation, in Duomo Square, the figure of Guariento will be reconstructed, as he is the first artist that can be defined as Court painter of the Da Carrara Family, the noble family that governed Padua in the 14th century.
Wooden painted boards and frescoes, coming from the main Italian and foreign museums are finally gathered together.

Oggi mi trovavo a mare a godermi un meritato momento di relax. Sotto l’ombrellone, però, tutta la mia attenzione era rivolta alla coppia dietro di me. I loro discorsi mi hanno talmente colpito che ora sono qui, davanti al mio computer, a fare delle riflessioni.
La coppia era di Capri, l’isola dei Faraglioni, della piazzetta, la meta da sogno per le nostre vacanze estive. Ma evidentemente così non è!

La coppia è stata per tutta la giornata a definire il nostro mare uno spettacolo della natura, niente a che vedere con quella “chiavica” che hanno a Capri. Io sono rimasto letteramente sbigottito. Il nostro mare, le nostre strutture migliori di quelle di Capri! Cari lettori è ciò che la coppia ha ripetuto in continuazione, anche agli amici che chiamavano al cellulare.

Lo dovrebbero capire i nostri amministratori. Abbiamo tutte le potenzialità per liberarci dal giogo della grande industria che ci sta ammazzando. Puntare sul nostro mare, su ciò che la nostra terra offre è l’arma vincente per rilanciare l’economia a Taranto, creare posti di lavoro e liberarci finamente dal “mostro”. Cesserebbe in questa maniera il ricatto occupazionale a cui noi tarantini siamo sottoposti. Ci vuole l’impegno di tutti: dei politici (anche se definirli tali, sia a destra che a sinistra, mi sembra una esagerazione), degli imprenditori, degli stessi cittadini. Insieme possiamo farcela!

Il Ponte Girevole di Taranto
Non potevo non inaugurare il mio blog con alcune foto del canale navigabile, fiore all’occhiello della città di Taranto, realizzate da Vito Fabbiano.Chiamato anche Ponte San Francesco di Paola, il Ponte Girevole viene inaugurato nel 1887 e poi successivamente rimodernato nel 1957.
Nasce per unire l’isola del Borgo Antico (non userò il termine città vecchia) al borgo umbertino o città nuova.
Il Ponte Girevole separa il Mar Grande ed il Mar Piccolo.

This year Venice will be a candidate to become the capital of rock, when 3 to 6 July, the best of international music will head to San Giuliano Park with ‘Heineken Jammin Festival. For four days the great rock stars will perform, thanks to an exceptional cast like Aerosmith, Cranberries, Greenday, Black Eyed Peas and Pearl Jam.
The 76 acres of land overlooking the lagoon will host the Camp (Free only for subscriptions to four days), a cinema and a shuttle service to Venice, and of course the two stages for concerts and all other suitable areas of the festival. Will not fail like every year the contest for emerging bands, alongside the big names in rock in the splendid setting of Venice.
